They could be siblings or friends. The frame measures 12” wide x 13 1/2” high. It is in very nice vintage condition; glass has no spots or damaged. The print is 8 1/2” wide x 8 1/4” high. The print is in really nice condition — nice color. It looks like the print was set on top of a paper background, not a mat on top of the print. The paper background has discoloration spots but the print does not. The background paper can easily be replaced. Comes from a smoke free home. Questions will be happily answered.Jessie Willcox Smith Biography(1863 - 1935) American illustrator. Jessie Willcox Smith is known for her iconic children's book illustrations. She also illustrated commercially for companies such as Kodak Film. Willcox graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1888 after studying drawing. She then went on to attend the Howard Pyle School of Illustration at the Howard Institute. She illustrated hundreds of magazine covers for Good Housekeeping. Smith went on to illustrate for many other major publications including Harper’s Bazaar and McClure’s magazines. Her most well-known book illustrations include Little Women and Water Babies. Children and childhood were her most common subjects, and she became known for her portraits of children as well.
