Game pieces are in sealed plastic baggies. I purchased batteries for the tower, which I included. I read however that Duracell work best, but Rayovac were all I couldn't find in a D size. lol All three lights lit up, and there's an extra in the box that is untested as it's in a sealed package. I did have to wiggle the batteries to the right position to get it to work which seems to be common for these games -that's how I found out Duracell are the best batteries. The box has shelf wear, two split corner on the lid, which I fixed, and a hole in the top, which I also fixed. Please ask questions if you have any.
