Description: Very cool vintage Hermes 3000 typewriter, gray/green with white keys. I believe it's been carefully used in the past since it has the case, instructions and original brushes. Tag on back says it was made in France (?) for Paillard but also mentions Switzerland. I took the bottom off and cleaned some bits of eraser dust, but when I put it back together it started having troubles, the carriage won't move smoothly, the space bar doesn't always work and the letters type over themselves. When I remove the bottom and put it up a bit on a couple of old CD's the carriage moves well, the letters don't type over themselves, but it wants to keep old tab settings. I don't know what the deal is with it since it worked before I took the bottom off. I have a picture of something I typed before "cleaning" it. At any rate, I'm sure someone who knows how to fix typewriters would love to fix it, it's such a cool machine. But it's above my paygrade to get it working. These typewriters are super collectible and will just get more valuable with time.
