Description: Featured is a vintage 1955 postcard (dated by Teich No in stamp box) depicting "The Hodag" - the mythical creature of legend in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, the "Hodag's Home" ... his existence and tradition having been perpetuated by the Logging Community from the early 1890s as a frightening hoax perpetrated on unsuspecting lumber camp novices on the first night of their arrival. The "myth" began with a tall tale told by a timber cruiser, Gene Shepard, upon arriving in a Northwoods Wisconsin camp in the year 1893. We ship weekdays with the exception of US federal holidays. We will ship with either free shipping or calculated shipping ... it depends on the given scenario.
