Description: This is a shaving mug and brushes that belonged to my Great-Grandfather. This mug was made for Shulton's Old Spice by Hull Pottery Co. from 1944-early 1950's. It features Ship Friendship. The ship is opposite the handle which is different from later shaving mugs. This 2nd Edition pottery mug has straight sides with a thumb rest. There are no inside ribs. These came later. The base of the mug reads "Early American, Old Spice centered inside a rope, and Made in USA". It holds a 5.5oz cake of soap. There are no chips or cracks in the mug but does have crazing. Mug- 3" high x 4.75" rim to handle. Also included in this listing are two shaving brushes. The blue one is heavier and weighs 2.4 ounces. It reads "Ever-Ready, Set in Rubber, 50M" on the side. The top rib in the celluloid holder has a crack completely around it. The red one weighs 1.2 ounces. The bottom reads "Plymouth, Sterilized, Set in Rubber, Made in USA". The last photo features a newer set that I have listed as well. Happy to combine shipping.
