The publishers have shared 365 quotes, the gems of thought from that time and earlier... This was published in 1893 by the Van Campen Company and the cover was embossed by Van Campen Embossing in Rahway, New Jersey. "Like Orient Pearls at Random Strung." The cover shows a boy wearing a dress (OR ROBE) blowing a horn, sitting on what looks like acanthus leaves (bear's breeches), wearing a laurel leaf crown, holding a large book.... Around his waist, as part of his dress / outfit we see a wide sash with what looks like a caduceus. See last photograph. Contains quotes from: Wordsworth, Holmes, Shakespeare, Bryant, Puck, Lord Byron and others. This booklet / calendar is being sold in "as is" condition, but, quite honestly, it's pretty good for its age. Actually it's very good. There's a little bit of staining. Some discoloration. Some separation on the spine from the staple down, a small tear on the spine and corner of the back cover in the upper right area, some slight damage to the edges - but overall, it's in really great shape for something that's over 125 years old!
