Description: Voigtlander T 35mm rangefinder camera with 50mm f/2.8 Color-Skopar lens, all made in Germany by a company founded in 1756. The lens is interchangeable with 35, 100, and 135mm lenses, often available on eBay. The camera has the classic feeling of German precision. It is relatively heavy, virtually all metal construction. The light meter responds to light, although I don't know how accurate its selenium cell is today. The camera has a number of unusual design features. Most noticeable is the plunger, which serves to rapidly wind the camera and cock the shutter. It is supposed to be able to be stored in the down position, although I and many others have difficulty with this. The secret is to push the plunger not quite all the way down and feel a click. Smaller features are the small foot that folds out from below the lens so that the camera will sit level on a surface, the rewind lever's location on the camera bottom, and the film counter/film type reminder in a little window in the front of the camera. The lens has movable indicators to show depth of field, similar to some Hasselblad lenses. The camera is in Excellent Plus cosmetic condition. There is one tiny mark on the base plate by the rewind lever and there is a small amount of corrosion at about the 4 o'clock position on the lens mount (see photos). My photo exaggerates the size of the corrosion; it is in an inconspicuous location as shown in the first photo. The lens is clear, free of fungus haze or oil. The glass is good, free of oil haze or fungus. If you have never handled a Voigtlander Vitessa, you will be amazed at the feeling of solidity and strength it gives you, almost like holding a Leica. Truly a classic. I am selling the cameras and photo equipment I have collected over the past fifty years. They have not been film tested but appear to function correctly (film winds on, shutter fires, f/stops change, focus works). Shutter speeds sound approximately correct to my ear but speeds have not been electronically tested. I have disclosed any problems that I am aware of and have tried to act like a fussy sharp-eyed buyer in evaluating the cameras and lenses. The items have been stored in an air-conditioned non-smoking home. Remember that many of these items are classics, over forty years old, and inevitably will show some wear and signs of age. To avoid customs delays and hassles, I will only ship to the USA or Canada and accept only payments via PayPal. Please ask any questions before you bid. My goal is to make every buyer fully satisfied and each transaction free from hassle. Please let me know if you are not satisfied with the item received. I would appreciate positive feedback if you are pleased with the transaction.
