Description: Virginia butter bottom Tarentum Glass Company Also known as Diamond and Sawtooth. The glass is clear and any colors you see in the photographs are reflections from indoors where I photographed the piece. The butter bottom has mold marks and straw marks and bubbles common in this era of glassware. Manufactured in a four-part mold. Very nice color and clarity and impression from the mold is sharp. The pattern in some pieces has four blocks and in others three blocks. Please refer to Tarentum Pattern Glass by Robert Irwin Lucas on page 295 for a factory reprint that shows the butter. The flange is chipped and has three large chips. The rim has minor mold roughness and one or two very small chips in that roughness/extra glass. Please email with questions or comments. Weight before packing 14.65 oz.
