Description: Vintage/1930-40 Large Square Hard-sided Canvas + Leather Suitcase for Hats/Shoes/Purses >In a Deep Golden Yellow Canvas/Cloth with Dark Brown Leather Trim Exterior Cover with a Dark Brown Leather Handle, Hard Sides, and Brass Hardware.Measurements of exterior 11'' tall x 19'' deep x 19'' long.Different maker, but similar in style to the Amelia Earhart Line. The logo of two inverted red V's mounted sideways on a small brass escutcheon on the front of the lid says ''T M A '' in black script. I cannot find any other identification. Nice large centered Dark Leather 'Plate'/Shield sporting the initials "N. A. P." in wonderful condition. The Dark Brown Leather Handle shows some wear along the edges with two small tears, one on each side with one slightly larger than the other, but no rot or bloom, Some small areas of missing leather trim as seen. Tears on the outer leather trim as seen in the photo details, but still 'there' so could be glued down (I will leave that to you). The interior is in really excellent condition and with no unpleasant odors. Warm Pinkish Beige/Taupe color in a pleated and gathered heavyweight shiny-finish Faille( horizontal ribbing weave), probably Rayon, make up not just the pockets located in the lid and both short sides but FOUR deep, gathered, separate Taupe FLANNEL-LINED(very soft and complete) open bottom SHOE POCKETS for two pair of shoes set in along the back; the rest of the case is lined with the same Faille. Large water-stain on the bottom as seen. Stabilizing Matching Grosgrain Straps prevent the lid from 'freefall' and pulling away from the base; these are secured with Brass Rivets that go all the way to the outside on each side of the case(see photo details). More slim straps run along the inside bottom of the case and are secured with Chrome 'garter'-style hooks. NO smells, NO rot/holes/tears or fading of color.Some aging with rub and light staining on the exterior material but no holes/rips. Slightly 'sticky' release buttons but a shot of WD-40 should fix that. GOOD solid 'click' into place. NO KEY.Being sold AS IS. Buyer to pay shipping with a tracking number, or free pick up is an option. I am outside of Seattle but do not have a car so you would have to come here.NO returns. I combine shipping where possible in most cases but this will have to be sent 'solo' due to its configuration.
