Description: ***********The manual wind movement gains about 5 minutes by the end of its approximate 45 hour power reserve period. Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. Additionally, this is a midsize watch, measuring approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 35.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs.***********This vintage 1960's Wyler Lifeguard, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a satin silver dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows wear. The lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The all stainless steel midsize case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The outside of the mid-case is stamped "WYLER LIFEGUARD · STAINLESS STEEL CASE · 1370/3-1162." The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the movement in this watch is accessed through the crystal. The manual wind movement runs strong, albeit fast. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 27 full revolutions the movement gained about 5 minutes by the end of its approximate 45 hour power reserve period. The crown winds buttery smooth. Given that the movement runs fast and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 33 mm excluding the crown, approximately 35.5 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the mid-case to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 5.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 9 mm. This watch comes on a vintage Speidel stretch band. Given that the movement runs fast a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 18 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.
