Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage "Special MADE FOR DICK STABILE" mouthpiece for Eb alto saxophone. Stabile was a well-known saxophonist and band leader in the mid-20th century. The Stabile model mouthpiece was made by 'The Woodwind Co.', although they are not actually marked as such. It is stamped 'Steel Ebonite", which was their term for hard rubber. This would be a 'NEW YORK', era WW co. piece, the most desirable period for this manufacturer. There is no facing indicated because these only came in one size, that which was favored by the namesake. The tip opening measures .061", which is pretty close by contemporary standards. It has flat, slightly undercut, inner side walls. The chamber looks like an upright rectangle with an arched top. This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. The tip, table, and rails are perfectly smooth, and original. There are no tooth gouges on the beak. There are virtually no scratches on the exterior. The rubber shows fading/discoloration, but the logo/markings are clear. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks again for looking! CElot-7
