Description: This came from the estate of a woman who probably inherited this recipe box, but was also an avid "collector" of recipes for years. Not sure if the box was made or purchased. It's approximately 5 5/8" x 4 1/8" x 3 3/8". There's an address written in pencil on one side of the lid inside. You can see it in the last photo. This cool old recipe box is well-loved and stuffed with hand written recipes. At least 150+ inside the box. A few are typed and there might be a few clipped from publications. Some of these are from the 1950s and 1960s, but I've also seen some from what seem like the 1970s. I'm adding a pile of recipes clipped from newspapers and magazines that were with this box. Original divider cards are included. Some of the recipes are written on envelopes or old computer "cards" and even on the back of Christmas party invites. Just like my grandmother used to do. All kinds of recipes. One is just titled "Cookies." Another is "One Dish Meal." I also found a recipe for "Elsie's Granny Salve" using lard, rosin, sheep tallow and elderberry bark. Another for "Furniture Cleaner" that includes turpentine and vinegar.
