Description: Vintage Wood Moulding Plane with iron & wedge - Possibly 18th century This is a vintage Moulding Plane. It is unmarked and is approximately 9 1/4" long and about 1 1/4" wide. The blade is about 1" wide. I'm not positive on the wood, but it looks like Beech to me. It has some characteristics of an 18th century style plane with the champhers. I'm not sure on the type or purpose of the plane...I am no expert, but I think it is some type of molding plane. Both wedge and blade appear to be original. I rate this plane in GOOD + CONDITION overall. It has not been cleaned. A nice example of an early moulding plane for you to add to your antique tool collection!
