The back side is marked "Whittall's Anglo Persian" and still has the original tag intact (see below + pictures). M. J. Whittall rugs are said to be the finest Anglo Persian Rugs produced from the 1930's. Whittall Anglo-Persians were one of only three Wilton rugs sold in Tiffany's. This particular Wilton Rug design is known as "Birds of Paradise", their most popular design. Label: "Whittall Anglo-Persian Wilton. M.J. Whittall Associates, Inc."
