Instructions for use and recommended workplace levels given inside lid. Photosensitive cell hinges up. Historical Significance: This light meter was probably used by the Industrial Division of Coles & Garrard to assess workplace lighting levels. Edward Weston founded his company in 1888 and started manufacturing general instrumentation in Newark, New Jersey. A British factory was opened in Enfield a year later.
