VINTAGE WEST GERMAN CRYSTAL PENDANT, VITRAIL MEDIUM, ONE PEICE

Description: These pedants are dramatic and beautiful. In 1997 we discovered a warehouse full of old West German items. The gentleman who kindly let us peruse the entire place told us the story of these pendants. They were made in his factory on the lower floors of the same building in the 1960’s and what we were able to buy from him in 1997 was the all that was left from his inventory. Every time in our stores when one of the women associates wears one, we invariably sell at least one, and sometimes several that day. They measure 37mm from top to bottom and 38mm from side to side and are about 10mm thick. Each side has a concave section which makes the reflected light from the coatings look sort of mystical. There are three coatings—Vitrail Medium, Heliotrope, and Crystal AB. The Vitrail Medium pendant has beautiful shades of green, pink, purple and more depending on the light. This is typical of Vitrail l but the large size of the pendant makes the effect even more dramatic. The back is almost a mirror finish of the Vitrail and is opaque. The front reflects the Vitrail coating in it's depth and is difficult to describe even when looking right at it. The hole is at the top of the pendant from front to back. We have sold these in kits with the appropriate color of beads and everything needed to make a complete necklace for $140. The individual pendants were sold in our stores for $29.00, and the price here in my eBay store is the wholesale price. These pendants are over 50 years old and have been packaged for decades. When examined minutely one may find "blemishes". If you look carefully, you will see that the coating was applied OVER the "blemish" and the pendant was considered perfect at that time and now as well.
