Description: This sale is for a hard to find airline collectible. The item for sale is a vintage VARIG airlines toiletry bag. VARIG was the first commercial Brazilian airline. It was founded in Brazil in 1927. From 1965 until 1990, it was Brazil’s leading airline. I was told that this travel bag is believed to be from the mid 60s to early 1970s. However I am unsure of it’s exact age. You can tell by examining the bag and it’s contents that it is of vintage manufacture. Made in Hong Kong . The travel bag is tan in color with the blue VARIG logo on the front. It is approx 4.5” x 8.5”. It features two zippered compartments. Some or maybe all of the original items that came in the bag are still contained inside. The original items included are: 1. Lens cloth 2. Shoe shine 3. Toothbrush & toothpaste 4. Shoe horn 5. Socks ( navy) 6. Comb 7. Shaving cream 8. Disposable razor 9. Nail file 10. Stickers 2 ( Please wake for meal service ) (Please do not disturb ) 11. Eye mask 12. Bag Most of the items are branded with the trademarked Varig logo. Writing on various items vary between Spanish and English. This bag is in overall good condition . The inside of the bag does have a very small area of bluing where it appears that some of the blue from the stickers or other blue Varig logo on an item bled thru . Not uncommon for items sitting inside for possibly over 50 years. It may come off with the right type of cleaning. However I will leave that for the buyer. Most of the items look new, as I don’t believe the bag and contents were ever used. This is not a common find , and is a really nice vintage aviation and airline collectible. Also this would be a nice item of memorabilia for anyone who had family or may themselves have worked for Varig Airlines. Please ask any questions you may have about this item before purchasing.
