Description: WYSIWYG..............What you See is What You Get, one ULTRA RARE VINTAGE USS Forrestal Fitted Cap New Era Pro Model 7-1/4 & Aircraft Carrier Book. This vintage hat is in awesome shape. It was worn by a pilot (Captain Ronald Hide) on the supercarrier USS Forrestel in the mid to late 1950's. It needs a good cleaning, but I was not sure how to do that safely, so I'll leave that to you. The embroidered patches are still nearly perfect. Other than some dirt from years of use & open storage, I see NO damage. The book is LIKE NEW, including the dust cover. This came to me directly from Captain Hide's estate. He obviously treasured his time on the Forrestal as evidenced by the condition in which he treated these items, his treasures from his past days of glory. I wish you clear skies Captains as you fly west. I will be listing this pilot's Captain's Dress Blues & other clothing in other listings. He was also a member of The Quiet Birdmen, a secret society of pilots formed back in 1921, founded by WWI pilots. I have several of those items available as well.
