Vintage Two Large Post-Modern Cityscape or Skyscraper Paintings, Signed FRANCO

Description: Vintage Pair Large Post Modern Cityscape/Skyscraper Original Paintings, Acrylic on Canvas, Signed: FRANCO. Probably 1960s-90s This pair or diptych of large acrylic on canvas paintings is executed in a very precise manner employing a limited palette of colors creating a dramatic and provocative play of light and dark. They were meant to form a pair and one is signed FRANCO at the lower right. I couldn't find any biographical information on the artist, but I suspect he or she worked in the Los Angeles area. I did find a similar large painting online (see: "Abstract Skyline Painting on Canvas by Franco" on Chairish). That painting is very similar in concept but is slightly larger with differences in the colors, and other details. Comparing the single painting and this pair, I would suggest that the two-painting format is more effective and also more versatile in terms of wall arrangement. I envision hanging the two separated by space enough to suggest the view from two adjacent windows with a wire sculpture hung in between! This pair of paintings would fit well in a Mid-Century environment as well as other Modern settings. Condition: Very Good with no major paint loss, areas of wear, tears or repairs. There are a couple of tiny flecks of missing paint on the lower third of both paintings which are easily retouched (see photos). Dimensions: Two Canvases: each 39" tall x 19" wide.
