Description: A straight sword, a takouba, of the nomadic Tuareg people of Mali and adjacent other Saharan and Sub-Saharan countries. It is made from carbon steel with a wooden hilt and leather scabbard, with metal, cloth and yarn straps and detailing. The length of the sword in the scabbard is 35 1/4". The lightly engraved, decorated blade length is 29 1/2". It is in very good condition, with some very minor signs of age and use.
