Description: Original owner of this 1967 Tressy Marilyn fashion doll by French doll maker Bella. The doll is in excellent condition: The body has no splits, scratches, or discoloration, with no repainting. This third-generation Tressy has a face with a special coating that allows the application and removal of custom eye, eyebrow, and lip makeup. A Magic Make-up kit was originally provided by the manufacturer, but regular makeup can be applied and gently removed, for instance, with a magic sponge.Her blond hair is full, and it can “grow” thanks to her “secret strand” on top of her head. Her hair can be lengthened by pulling the “secret strand” while pushing the button on her stomach. This doll comes with its original key, allowing her “secret strand” to revert to short hair by inserting the key in the back slot and turning it clockwise.Tressy is wearing her original white panties under her red knit sleeveless dress with white trim, in excellent condition. In addition, her wardrobe includes a bonus original blue knit dress with white trim and V-neck back, another distinctive style of Tressy dresses. She also comes with her original red open-toe shoes, but the top of each shoe is split.Tressy was trademarked in1963 as a doll with “hair that grows” by the American Character Doll Company as a direct competitor to Barbie. Like Barbie, Tressy is 11.5”, but she is made of softer vinyl that generally kept its original coloring over the years. In 1966, the French doll company Bella acquired manufacture and distribution rights fort he French marketing of its own “Bella Tressy” models.This Tressy Marilyn has two tiny pin holes under her ears from previously worn earrings, but these earrings did not cause any discoloration around the ears.
