While no service paperwork will be provided my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back.***********If watches could talk this vintage 1960's Technos Sky Diver would have a fascinating story to tell. Although I bought this watch from the estate of a US Navy SEAL who held the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, I don't know anything more about its history. What I do know is that it has surely lived a full life, having oodles of character to show for it. In hand it's a truly special watch. The matte black "SWISS T<25 MC" signed dial is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows age-related wear. The lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching toasted orange hue. In my humble opinion the dial and patina combination couldn't be more pleasing. The faded blackish gray countdown bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROOF SWISS MADE AUTOMATIC" with "TECHNOS" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "TECHNOS WATCH Co" followed by "SWISS,""BREVET,""238872,""BREV.DEM,""+,""STAINLESS,""STEEL" and "2472." The crystal is near pristine. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "TECHNOS" stamped ETA 2472 automatic movement is clean and received a complete overhaul in September 2021. Although no service paperwork will be provided my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back. After recently winding the original Technos stamped screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement kept accurate time over an approximate power reserve period of 41 hours. The crown winds buttery smooth. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 42 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 10 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11 mm. This watch comes on a well-preserved 20 mm Tropic strap with signature flared buckle that is fully pliable without any cracking or tearing. The long end, which is straight edged, measures approximately 121 mm. The short end, excluding the buckle, measures approximately 84 mm. Although the movement recently received a complete overhaul and keeps accurate time there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
