Description: This listing is for a set of 12 bowls made by the Ceramic Guild. These were made circa late 1960s- early 1970s. The pattern is called "Tampico Yellow" and has beautiful Mums in gold, yellow, and orange colors and a yellow band on the rim of the bowl. The colors and pattern are so reflective of that era. These are hand decorated ironstone bowls. Ironstone is a stoneware known for durability and strength. It is more expensive to purchase today for this reason. Decorative ironstone was meant to be "oven to table to dishwasher" to make life easier for families! They are sealed under a very hard glaze. These bowls are dishwasher safe and ovenproof. These were made in Japan. There are 2 Sizes:5 bowls which are the larger 7" diameter (salad/soup bowl)7 bowls which are the smaller 6" diameter (cereal bowl) The bowls are in very good condition for their age, a testament to the durability of ironstone. There are a couple minor marks on the dishes (see the last photos) but otherwise free of cracks, chips, or damage. Smoke free home.
