Description: Vintage SYLVAC DOVECOTE 6 pc TEA SET, Lg Teapot/Sm Teapot/Sugar/Creamer ENGLAND. Condition is Used. This set is made in England about 1940-1950. Marked on the bottom SYLVAC Made in England, and Hand Painted Ware. These were originally made by Falcon Ware until it was sold in 1938 and the name was changed to SYLVAC. The smaller (or personal sized) teapot has no number embossed on the bottom, but the larger teapot (30 ounces) has the number 532 with the letter L embossed on the bottom. The sugar bowl has 533 with a V on it, and the creamer pitcher has 534 also with a V. These are from the DOVECOTE pattern which also has bowls, platters, sandwich plates and other pieces in this collection. It shows a backyard garden with a birdbath and a couple of white doves. The handles on the creamer and teapots have a dovecote on the top of them. These are in very good vintage to antique condition, with crazing, but no chips or repairs. This is not an easy set to find, and would make a very nice addition to a collection.
