Description: A vintage street map of the San Fernando Valley, a 250-square mile slice of urban & suburban California, home to roughly 2 million people. The Valley includes the northern half of the City of Los Angeles (the area above the Santa Monica Mountains & Griffith Park), as well as the cities of Calabasas, Hidden Hills, San Fernando, Burbank, Glendale, La Canada & La Crescenta. It is home to Warner Brothers Studio, Walt Disney Studios and Universal Studios Hollywood. The map was published by the Automobile Club of Southern California/AAA and was issued circa 1970. (It is undated, but urban development, municipal incorporation & freeway construction are all clues that indicate it is from the late 1960’s to early 1970’s.)
