Description: Item Description: SPACE: 1999 METAL LUNCHBOX AND PLASTIC THERMOS from King-Seeley Thermos 1976. This rare R-4 kit features scenes and characters from the British science fiction television series- starring the married couple of Barbara Bain and Martin Landau. These intrepid astronauts were on moonbase Alpha located in the Pluto crater when, in 1999, nuclear waste on the far side of the moon detonates – knocking the moon out of its orbit and sends it hurtling uncontrollable through space. Yikes! Wonderfully created by AT staff illustrator Ed Wexler (of Roy Rogers and Hometown Airport fame) with colorful scenes from the show against the darkness of space. Well done Ed! Condition: Lunchbox and Thermos are complete and correct (including original wire thermos holder). Box lithos are clean and glossy throughout with light rubbings and some fading on bottom. Light rim wear on front - with no corner dents or dimples. Inside is very clean - with no previous owner markings. Box in overall Excellent plus C-.5 condition. Thermos decals are clean throughout - in overall Excellent Plus C-8.5 condition. From my personal collection – stored carefully in a cool, dry, smoke-free room away from sunlight.
