Description: This beautiful original antique painting (pastel) depicts a delicate unfixed ART DECO landscape possibly created in California or Illinois. The artist, Mabel C. Heyde, created this one-of-a-kind piece. The painting is unframed and was covered in glass originally however the original frame was broken. Estate piece. The piece measures 7 inches in length and 11 inches in height. The painting features pastels, and is signed by the artist, as "Mimi". She also signed other works as "Mimi Joy", her pseudonym. Her legal name was Mabel C. Hyde. See photo of handmade label which came from the backing on the original frame before damaged. Great price for California art. Heyde was born in 1893 in Illinois. While studying art at the Art Institute of Chicago she met her soon to be husband William H. Hyde. By 1940 she was living in LOS ANGELES.
