Description: Vintage Shakespeare “Muskie” Wonderod Bait Casting Rod No. 1031-EJK 5’5” This is a one piece construction vintage Shakespeare Wonderod bait casting rod. Designated “Muskie” for either light salt water or heavy freshwater fishing. The rod dates to January 1962. Rod has a 9 1/2” specie cork rear grip with a red rubber butt cap. 4 1/4” by 3/4” stainless steel sliding hood double ring locking reel seat with a finger trigger. The 4” specie cork foregrip is a replacement as a cracked reel seat hood needed to be replaced. Replacement hood is correct style make and vintage. The rod has four (4) stainless steel wire frame spinning guides and a Carboloy tip top. Blade is Wonderod white with red nylon guide wraps and black nylon extensions. Rod is finished with a premium grade of glass rod varnish. Rod will pack in a clear plastic rod sleeve and a round cardboard tube . Will ship inside a four side shipping box.
