Armrests ending with two amazing hand-carved lion heads These are fully hand carved and show amazing craftsmanship. NOTE: This is a RARE FIND as this is a FULL SET of 2 chairs. Not only do these chairs have the hand carved lion head This is not easy to find as a set and in this condition! The X-formed Savonarola scissor chair was copied from an ancient Roman form in almost every European country. This style was designed to fold so it was portable and used during campaigns or other outdoor pursuits. Once only available to the wealthy, the lion heads were used to display the power and might of the one who used the chair. To fold this interestingly beautiful chair, simply place your fingers under the seat at the front and back and gently pull up. The screw at the back can be tightened to maintain them folded for easy storage. These would make perfect hallway or entryway chairs. Dimensions H 29 x L 20 x 23 1/2 deep /seat measurements 10 x 11 Excellent condition and fully functional, these do show some minor wear due to age and normal use and storage.
