Description: Here is a very nice tea cup and saucer in excellent vintage condition with no wear to gold, pattern is American Beauty from Royal Albert, made from Bone China. The American Beauty pattern had a long production run, it started in 1927 and ended in 1998. Cup is 2 3/4 inches tall X 3 1/4 inches diameter and the saucer is 5 5/8 inches diameter X 3/4 inches deep. This cup shape is called the Hampton. The back stamp on these were used from 1927 till 1940 when the words Crown China were changed to Bone China. This set belonged to my mom who always kept it in a class case, I have not seen but one other American Beauty piece with the Crown China back stamp and it had wear. In 1964 the company was bought by the Lawley Group but continued making Bone China under the Royal Albert trade name. In 1974 the name was changed to Royal Albert Ltd.
