They are made from parts of the Zizyphus Spina Christi, also knows as the jujube tree Legend suggests that Christ's crown of thorns was made from its crooked branches which are covered with thorns. * The two-part relic crucifix opens with a screw to reveal earth from the Catacombs. Measures 1 1/2 in height.* The rosary centerpiece measures 3/4" in height. * From the bottom of the cross to the middle of the third decade this rosary is 23" long. * Made in Italy.Very good vintage condition.
