Description: Vintage Ronnaug Petterssen Norway Oslo Costume Doll Blonde No Bonnet APPROX MEASUREMENTS 7.5" Tall DESCRIPTION Part of a collection of an estate lot that included a lot of vintage items from 50-60s. Norwegian cloth doll by Ronnaug Petterssen. From the 1930s through the 1960s, Mrs. Petterssen produced beautiful cloth dolls taking great pains to detail her doll costumes to authentically represent the traditional folk bunads of the different regions of Norway. This little Petterssen girl likely dates from the 1950s or 1960s. Like most of the Petterssen dolls, she is made of cloth with posable arms and legs. Pressed felt face with hand painted features including right side glancing eyes. Her wig is blonde mohair. Her costume is lovely, representing Oslo, the capital of Norway. Sky blue wool bunad trimmed with blue embroidery and decorated with a grey band on the skirt and embroidered flowers on the front and back of the bodice and skirt. Underneath she wears a white cotton blouse and muslin pantalets. Tiny seed beads act as a neck brooch and decorate her black felt slippers. She is missing her cap. CONDITION Overall good condition for its age I don't think it was stored very well so expect discoloration to the fabric. Unfortunately the pantaloons show pest damage, especially in the back but of course under the dress that can be seen. There is also one small hole in the back of the dress about halfway down the skirt by the seam, see pictures.
