This equivalent of a Hallmark romantic holiday movie throws together a wealthy handsome young bachelor, a charming but unrepentant burglar and a lovely young woman in distress who all come to share Christmas in a snow-bound mansion. Title page reads: The Burglar and the Blizzard – A Christmas Story by Alice Duer Miller – Author of The Blue Arch etc. – With Illustrations by Charlotte Harding – Published by Hearst’s International Library, New York , c. 1914 There are 8 full page black and white illustrations throughout and including the frontispiece by the American illustrator Charlotte Harding (1873–1951). This slim 92 page, approximately 7 ½ by 5 inch hardcover is in fairly good condition. The pages are clear and the binding is solid. A piece is missing from the tissue guard protecting the frontispiece illustration. There is a personal inscription – To Loffo from dada Christmas 1916 on fountain pen on the inside front cover. The grey cloth cover also illustrated by Charlotte Harding and white script spine title has just a bit of wear along the edges. Shipping Terms: We ship Worldwide - including the United States.
