A long-time Carmel resident and devoted animal lover/advocate, Doris Day lived in a fairy tale pastel yellow home overlooking the 17th fairway at the Quail Lodge Golf Course in Carmel Valley. In the tradition of Carmel-by-the-Sea, where she co-owned the famous Cypress Inn Hotel, Ms. Day named her home Overlook. Carmel-by-the-Sea is known for having no street numbers and residents name their homes, many with tongue in cheek titles, for identification. Doris extended this tradition to her home in the valley. Complete with provenance from her estate sale and a copy of the auction catalog. This sign has been converted so as to hang as an art piece, which it certainly is.
