Vintage Norman Laboratories Model 83 pair of Stereo Speakers

Description: Pair of very rare Norman Laboratories speakers Model 83. Acoustic suspension enclosed by fabric dust covers. Overall fair condition for their age. Tested and sound good. Noticeable marks and scuffs to the exterior and fabric (please see pictures). One of the fabric dust covers is missing its Norman Labs logo at the bottom. The woofers' and mid-ranges' foam surround is the worst of it, the foam is cracking off and totally useless. The rest of the woofers and mid-ranges themselves seem to be undamaged. Important Shipping InformationThey weigh 32.4 lbs. (each), which is a good weight for handling, but horrible for shipping. If you ship both speakers together using eBay's calculator, the price could be as high as $350. But if you ship both speakers separately, the price could be as low as $85 total! Check my page for TWO OTHER Norman Labs speakers that are in moderately better condition. Dimensions are approximately 11 7/8" tall, 9 1/4" deep, and 23 1/16" tall. Woofer is 10", midrange is 5 1/4", and tweeter is 1" (the black plate around tweeter is 3 3/4"). Norman Labs was an Oklahoma business started in 1971 that made mainstream, high-end speakers with quality cabinetry and great sound until around 2000. The company was closed down after being bought and sold a number of times through the 80s and 90s. I believe the Model 83 was made in 1987, but because of the company's closing information, is hard to find and actual speakers even harder.
