Description: Vintage Mexican Sterling Silver & Stone - Chip BERNICE GOODSPEED Collar Necklace. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box. This amazing necklace predates the eagle hallmark, and is true 1940's vintage! Despite my attempts to reference any similar Goodspeed pieces like this, I have been unable to. It truly stands alone. It is crafted in sterling silver, and is hallmarked on the back with 'STERLING', as well as 'TAXO MEXICO' which surrounds the stylized letter 'B'. This is of course the hallmark of Bernice Goodspeed. This is a hefty necklace, and it consists of 13 trapezoidal links and 13 ball drop links. The larger trapezoidal links have a flower motif, with incredible inlay that consistently shades from emerald green to deep ocean blue on each link. It's not quite stone inlay work, and not quite enameling... The necklace closes with a simple hook and eye clasp, which works exactly as it ought to. This piece measures just slightly under 17" from end to end. The trapezoidal shaped links measure an average of 0.80" from top to bottom, while the ball links measure an average of 0.85". Total weight of this necklace is a hefty 91.5 grams. (Just shy of 3 troy ounces of silver). Condition is very good, with no damage or repairs. Very, very minor inlay loss on one link noted. This piece has been cleaned, but not polished, and is ready to wear. I have left the patina on this necklace and will leave it up to its future owner to polish if desired.
