Description: For sale here is a lovely vintage Meccano set (Outfit number 7), dating back (I think) to the 1950's. It was made at the Meccano factory in France and seems to differ from the number 7 set made in this country. It comes with 3 manuals (5A, 6 and 6A) which are in French. As far as I can make out, set number 7 comprised sets 5A, 6 and 6A, (hence the manuals), but that might not be the case. The set is housed in a lidded box, which seems to be made of wood covered in red paper or fibre. At some point the lid has been repaired with red gaffer tape. The box base is a bit scuffed in places. The parts are in two layers, which have cardboard compartments, which may not be original. I have no way of knowing whether the set is complete or if all the pieces are original to the set. The weight including the box, but not including the manuals, is just over 5kg. A lot of the parts are brass, but some of the other parts seem to be a bit rusty.
