Description: Total of seventy sheets. PLEASE NOTE THE (PHOTO 7) AS THE FOLDER HAS DISCOLORED FOR SOME REASON AND NO LONGER LOOKS LIKE THE FIRST IMAGE. 1- Twenty sheets of the grey paper (photo 3) with "Inter-Office Correspondence (photo 5). The twenty sheets are "INTER-OFFICE CORRESPONDENCE- FAIRCHILD CAMERA AND INSTRUMENT CORPORATION" and they are a gray tone with some toning on the sheet edges. The logo is grey scale and does not give the impression of having been printed at a press. They were printed for inter-office memos and they appear to be. 2- Twenty Sheets of a sort of translucent or onion skin letterhead for Fairchild Space and Defense Systems (photo 4) 3- Twenty Sheets of the Fairchild Space and Defense Systems stationery without the logo (photo 5). this paper has a water mark reflecting "Gilbert Opaque Bond 25% cotton". I assume it was used for letters with more than one page. 4- Ten Sheets of the white paper stationery with the Fairchild Space and Defense Systems with the Red Stripes (photo 2). The ten sheets are" "FAIRCHILD SPACE AND DEFENSE SYSTEMS- A DIVISION OF FAIRCHILD CAMERA AND INSTRUMENT CORPORATION" and is standard letterhead with the Syosset address. The logo is black and red and you can feel the impression that was made in the paper when the printing was added. This paper is also watermarked "Strathmore Bond 25% cotton fiber USA" The top edges have minor waves where maybe once there was a paperclip and a few sheets have impressions at the top of the page. One sheet has a tiny corner bend (photo 8 & 9) 5- A Fairchild Space and Defense Systems Folder (photo 7). PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLDER HAS DISCOLORED AND NO LONGER APPEARS IS IT DID IN THE FIRST IMAGE. This paper was from the 1960's or early 1970's. By 1979 the name was changed. I am breaking this into two auctions. It is all I have and likely the only time you will find much from Fairchild Space and Defense Systems. Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation was a company founded by Sherman Fairchild. It was based on the East Coast of the United States, and provided research and development for flash photography equipment. The technology was primarily used for DOD spy satellites. The firm was known for its manufacture of semiconductors. Based on the CIA website, Fairchild Space & Defense Systems became effective in 1963 and appears to have been primarily involved in the fabrication of a Satellite Mapping Camera Subsystem, among other things. It was also contracted by NASA to do something with the Earth Resources Program. "In accordance with the requirements of the work statement, Fairchild's Space and Defense Systems Division has, during the early months of 1969, reviewed experimenter requirements relative to the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center aircraft program for Earth Resources Sensor Development". .. whatever that means. They were also involved in early Artillery-Launched Charge-Coupled Devices, Panoramic Night Photographic Systems, and other sneaky things. The point is, you won't be coming across much to do with this particular division of the Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation because they almost never did anything that the public was aware of. flat MEDIA MAIL: The USPS allows books, records and other media to be mailed at a cheaper price than typical mail. It tends to be a much slower mailing process than standard mail. In addition, any employee of the USPS can open the package at ANY time for ANY reason to verify that what is inside is what should be inside. In most cases, the item is properly repackaged but, in rare cases, it is not and an item can arrive damaged. As my feedback suggests, I package very carefully. If you receive a damaged item that has the appearance of having been poorly packaged, please contact me prior to leaving feedback so that it can be addressed.
