It is also is used for trail construction and maintenance. • Edward Pulaski, a US Forest Service ranger based in Wallace, Idaho, is widely credited for the invention of the Pulaski, (aka mattock), in 1911, although a similar tool was first introduced in 1876 by the Collins Tool Company. (The Collins Tool Company coincidently purchased Warren Tool & Axe Co. and its brands in 1950 and shut it down.) The photos are the best description! • This is an old antique US Forest Service trail and fire pulaski in rusted, used condition as shown. It’s a hand-me-down tool from a retired forest service worker out of the Clearwater National Forest in north central Idaho. • I've made no attempt to clean this old forest tool up. (I brushed the rust down to reveal the “Warren” brand.) Great for your collection display as-is, or, restore it for use, if you prefer. • Please view all the photos for condition before you bid.
