Description: This is a beautiful vintage umbrella made in Switzerland as a promotional item for Bern. Bern travel design on the lovely red cotton material which measures 39" across when umbrella is open. Handle and tip are made of wood, and umbrella measures 36" when folded. Red is the color of the swiss flag. Tag reads Baumwolle (cotton, aka tree wool). Schweizerfabr... (swiss fabric) Company that produced these promotional items was founded in Bern in 1979. Condition is very good. Black wood handle shows a bit of wear, nothing excessive. There is a bit of fading on the outside fabric, shows in one picture (#5) that I darkened to make more noticeable. It looks like dust stripes but I brushed it and it seems to be the fabric which is a bit faded in those areas. Most likely it’s sun fading from being folded.
