Vintage LARGE FONTANINI Signed SIMONETTI Paper Mache Joseph 12” scale ITALY Exc

Description: This listing is for a Fontanini paper mache kneeling “Joseph” figure, made in Italy somewhere between the 40s and the 60s.He has some chipping of the hair on his forehead, as well as some chipping on his hand where the staff went in. Please see photos.He is missing his staff, but the original piece had a very simple wire staff, which could be duplicated easily.There is also about a quarter inch chip on the back side, on his robe, which could be disguised easily with brown watercolor paint, mixed to match. Same with his hair.These figures are at least 64 years old, and it is not unusual for them to have chips, being that they are made of papier-mâché and not some hard material.This is considered 12” scale, and measures 10” high.It is signed “Simonetti”, the sculptor for Fontanini. PLEASE NOTE: I am currently listing companion pieces to this Fontanini set. if you do not see the character that you are looking for, check back in a day or two as I will be listing more. I have no problem combining shipping, but would prefer to only put two or possibly three pieces in one shipping box.
