Description: This seldom seen vintage 1970's Kelbert diver is an example of a watch that looks markedly better in person. It has a matte black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial that is in pristine condition, free of any visibly noticeable scratching, tool marks, chipping or defects. Any imperfections seen are on the crystal not the dial. The original tritium, which emits a quick-burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The blue bezel, which rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents beautifully with the toasted butterscotch inverted triangle lume complementing the patina on the dial and hands nicely. The all stainless steel case, which appears to have retained its original finish, shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "SUPERWATERPROOF 20 ATMOS INCABLOC AUTOMATIC STAINLESS STEEL" with a picture of a diver and the numbers "70 N" stamped in the center. The crystal shows light scratching. The ETA 2772 automatic movement with quickset date function is exceptionally clean, keeps accurate time and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am as it should. The quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an impressive power reserve of nearly 45 hours. The crown, which screws down perfectly as it should, winds buttery smooth. Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering that the movement shows no signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 43 mm including the crown and and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 11 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 12 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch. Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking!
