Description: This beautiful, vintage 9" plate from John Maddock & Sons Ltd. features a lovely "Pansy" chintz pattern with a gorgeous embossed ivory Wedgwood border. This is a round plate and features hand-painted trim in a lovely green around the pansy transferware. It has a printed backstamp which dates it to a period post-WWII and was manufactured in England. It also has an intriguing imprinted 25 (in Roman Numerals) that may be a decorator’s number or a specific production batch. It’s not clear. But the plate is perfect except for one tiny flea bite on the underside of the edge, which does not detract from its beauty and charm. The price has been adjusted accordingly.
