Description: This is a vintage top hat from John Cavanagh, LTD, Park Avenue, New York. In researching this piece, I learned that John Cavanagh offered a top hat, or coachman's top hat made from beaver fur. There is no size indication but the inside brim measures 7" front to back, and 5.5" side to side. The inside brim circumference is approximately 20". The exterior hat stands at 5.5" high, with the brim at 9" wide, 11" front to back. The inside also has a round hook for hanging. There's some minor wear and tear, specifically some dried staining on the inside brim and a small spot on the back side top near the center. I tried to point those out in my photos. Also included is the John Cavanagh, LTD top hat box with a leather strap. The box is in good condition for its age. The box measures 7" high, 11" wide, 13.5" deep. There's a minor odor inside and remnants of tape on the top side near the front end. I tried to show the overall condition of the hat, and the box.
