The blade is blued steel with a saw on the spine and a double-edged combat end. The heel of the blade is stamped with the "JAPAN". The handle is wooden, round in cross-section with deep grooves. The head of the handle is hexagonal steel. The crosspiece (stop) is steel, straight, rectangular. The sheath is leather canvas green.
