Her pots are made with the coil method, curling rolls of clay, which she digs from the Pueblo pottery source, into the shape of a vase, and this case, a wedding vase. The pot is then rubbed with a smooth stone, dried, and the design is painted using natural clay slips. The pots are fired under a pile of Piñon which tempers the clay and ad hears the finish to the pot. The wedding vase, according to Carolyn, is a symbol of family.
