Description: For sale is a vintage Japanese Nishi doll. The doll and stand are 8 inches tall. The doll is approx. 3" wide. The black wooden stand is 4" x 3". Nishi Dolls, also referred to as Nishi Geisha Dolls, are a type of Japanese doll often made for display rather than play. Produced by Nishi & Co., these dolls became popular during the post-WWII era and were often sold as souvenirs. They feature traditional Japanese attire, such as kimonos with detailed accessories, like the obi (sash), and are often posed on stands. The dolls were mass-produced from the 1950s to the 1980s and were meant to represent Japanese cultural figures, typically geishas. The doll is in great vintage condition. Please see photos for details.
