Description: ITEM: Used vintage Japanese bromide yamakatsu card of Ultraseven battling the kaiju Naasu from the Japanese tokusatsu TV series Ultraseven circa 1968. Card measures roughly 3.5 x 5 inches. BACKGROUND: I purchased these myself one at a time as a young boy growing up in Tokyo in the late 1960s. Bought most of them at the local mom & pop "10 yen store" in our neighborhood when I didn't have enough money to buy a kaiju sofubi. If memory serves me, they came in packs of a couple dozen or so and if you had enough cash you could buy the whole packet. As a 5 or 6 year old I usually only had enough cash on hand to buy one or two cards at a time (and perhaps some candy!). My friends and I used to collect and trade these. Brought these with me when we moved to the U.S. and they've been collecting dust for most of the past 50 years tucked away in drawers, closets, and moving boxes.
