Description: Here's an in interesting pair of Hollywood Regency style boxes I assume for a ladies dressing table probably from the 1950s/60s. There are two in total--one a tissue box and one for various items be it makeup, brushes, jewelry, etc. They are both finished in a white metal and both have colorful flowers situated on the front and top of the boxes. I've seen numerous items like these over the years and usually the flowers get chipped and broken over time. That hasn't happened with these two as all the flowers are still lovely and intact. I can remember visiting various aunts and uncles over the years and finding items like these around as well as in my grandmothers house. They have a certain charm and comfort and certainly hark back to a much different time in our history. It's also a bit unusual to find them as a set as well. They remind me of something you might see in a Doris Day movie from the early 1960s when she was dressed to the nines. All in all a whimsical piece of American fashion memorabilia from a bygone era.
