Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE For sale is a Vintage Hardy Bros. Husky Lightweight Fly Reel in Box with Case. Manufactured by Hardy Bros. Ltd of England. The Husky was a part of Hardy's Lightweight Series of reels of which there were two wide drum models, the Zenith and the Husky. The Husky was derived from the Zenith and is the same size, 3-3/8". The Zenith was developed before the Husky and was a standard spring & pawl reel but there was a silent check version of the Zenith too. Apparently Hardy decided to offer an improved version of the silent check Zenith and named it The Husky. It was made from 1964 until 1969. The Husky typically had the two screw line guard and ribbed brass foot seen on this reel. Spool width is 1 1/8” and weight is 7.85 oz. Capacity is up to a WF9 plus 200 yards of 20# backing. Hardy recommended them for sea trout, steelhead and salmon fishing. Because of their short manufacturing run Husky reels are considered to be collectable by Hardy collectors. This reel has been used but well cared for and is at least excellent condition. It could be fished or would look nice in a display. Reel case is original to the reel and in near mint condition. Box is completely intact with no defects and is also in near mint condition. Please review the pictures and contact me for more pictures or additional information. International buyers are welcome, but please note that I use the EBay Global Shipping Program for international customers. I have a return policy so please have the courtesy to contact me immediately if there are any problems. I will combine orders when possible. Thanks for looking.
